September 24, 2025The work of narrative change starts with separating stories from our identity.
When we make the problems we face parts of our identity, we fixate them and make it a lot harder to resolve them, part with them, or change them.
Changing beliefs and narratives become an easier task if we consider them as independent and detached from our sense of identity.
We need to keep our identity fluid, clean, flowing, and flexible. We don’t need to attach heavy, burdensome traits, attributes, problems, limiting beliefs to it, and bring its flowing nature into a halt.
Narratives are just stories we’ve come to believe as real. To identify with them is to turn a flowing river which is the actual nature of our soul into stagnant water.
